Liepāja at only 78k residents and no large cities along the way (outside of the Rīga commuter zone the largest are 11k and 2k). The train cannot compete with buses that leave hourly.

Currently we are at an odd situation where we have 3 (subsidized) flights to Liepāja per week and only one (subsidized) train.
