      City wealth, numbers, and technology = cities usually call the shots If you're unhappy with how the shots are being called, the city is the place where you can rectify the situation

      As a city dweller I sort of want to agree with you but a lot of the "public square" the functions of cities are migrating online and it may be totally possible to dictate policy from your smartphone in a country house within like, 1 more trump admin

      lmfao no, rural access to internet is wholly dependent on infrastructure which is only supported by urban economic activity

          People said cars would make cities obsolete. Then it was telephones. Now it's internet. Wrong every time! Cities are no accident, and will be with us as long as we have any technology at all

          Oh I don't think cities are going anywhere and I don't think they aren't the loci of most social movements, just pointing out that some of their functionality is getting refactored by smartphone access
