NO THE GOAL IS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR PPL WHO HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO MOVE AROUND AND THE POORS CAN STAY HOME
If you're trying to go somewhere that transit doesn't go, or at a time transit doesn't run, then drive! Transit doesn't exist in isolation...do you think people in NYC would have more freedom or less without their admittedly garbage subway? Now how about Tokyo w their great one?

And between NYC and Tokyo--which city's residents do you think have more freedom to travel whenever and wherever they want? You're never "at the mercy" of schedules when trains are coming every 5 minutes

Do you see me out here defending the public transit status quo in NA, or shouting about how much it needs to change

trains coming every 5 minutes = much of the NYC subway (which is why, as horrible as it is, people still find it invaluable)

THEY DONT COME THAT OFTEN AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF THE CITY ISN'T EVEN SERVED BY THE SUBWAY
-
depends on the line but yes, much of the city isn't served--and would be better off if they *were* served, yes?pic.twitter.com/eDKYsXQqDu

DUDE THEY BUILT AN ART PROJECT STATION THAT LEAKED FROM DAY 1, THEY BUILT TRACK AND STATIONS AT THE COST OF 2.5 BILLION PER MILE
-
Yes I know, everyone at MTA should be arrested--question still stands, would people who have the subway now be better off if it disappeared? Would neighborhoods that don't have it be better off if they did?
