Good to know (tho I wouldn't want to peg transit funding to highway use...), it doesn't surprise me that some ppl like driving to work but I would really prefer if there were some viable options for the rest of us

for the nth time widely available high-quality public transit just increases the number of trips people can take--the roads will still be full the solution you're looking for is extortionate fees for driving on certain roads to keep plebs off them

the solution works by reducing the number of trips people can take and will not (on its own) particularly get more people into transit--it'll just get them off highways
