till you build a Mega Dome and need a nice, cozy, dense urban center
okay so hear me outpic.twitter.com/0e1VhazsLc
yeah the "thermal pocket" design might work on mars
is this a real science. i just thought "okay theres an outer wall and it spews atmosphere, it just works"
Your main problem is sand-storms stripping off the upper atmosphere but other than that mars is not a windy planet. 60 mph tops during sand storms so you can take advantage of a valley effect to concentrate a comfortable atmosphere.
Provided you have formatted the atmosphere to a good oxygen balance, every where outside the dome is survivable but dry, miserable, and like, winter in Arizona every day
ok ppl keep talking about changing the atmosphere to have more oxygen but what are they gonna do about the problem of oxygen being too light to be held by mars's gravity there's a reason u need to be a gas giant to have any hydrogen in the atmosphere
ah nvm it looks like Mars is still massive enough to retain oxygenpic.twitter.com/pEmhOTYyzh
yeah you gotta just make sure your oxygen isn't at the top of the atmo and getting blasted off constantly
And yeah basically we are going to have to release a lot of gas into Mars atmo to make it inhabitable
