Btw the station crew needs to have a guy on the platform--i was told my train would be on "platform 3" but there were two trains there, on either side, with no indication of destination. I had to climb on and find someone to ask if I had the right train.

"Platform 3" doesn't mean track 3? Or is it only Britain that does that?

it ought to (and it does in Japan as well) but alas, not in Springfield--platforms all have numbers, and tracks all have different numbers (platform 3 = tracks 4 and 5 or 5 and 6, I forget)
