Beginning to hear the word "high performance rail" thrown around to refer to 80-100mph service, as opposed to "high speed rail" which had previously been used to refer to anything upwards of 55mph (despite technically referring to a 125mph minimum). It's a start...

...but it's still a mouthful, and it's still trying to address a problem which ought to have been solved a long time ago: the fact that people associate "rail" sans modifiers with "slow" If we had kept our railways modern in the latter 20th century, we wouldn't need to do this.
