I see some blue line over the Grand Junction and I know I must see more

Headway’s at peak are every 5 minutes on the Blue Line at peak currently.

Sounds about right. Ultimate practical headway capacity on almost all signaled rail lines is always around 3 minutes = 20 tph.
-
OL should be able to get closer to 30 since there is no branching. Terminal space and lack of trains are a big issue. BL is the same but better off than OL. RL could do more but the Alewife switch and the Harvard curve slows things down.
-
It’s hard to sustain 2 minute headways without delays in actual operation. That’s why it is rarely attempted.
-
What does the Moscow Metro do that allows it to sustain nearly 40 tph?
-
Threatens the train ops families to keep them moving.
-
dodging; if it were impossible to do 40tph then no amount of threatening would change that
-
In my experience they did not screw around with closing the doors and some stations at least had countdown clocks that drivers could see to keep themselves on time. (My memory from when I was 10 so take it how you will)
-
Just closing the doors is an easy way to shave headway. Need a cooperative ridership for that.
