The university's garage is not (afaik) run by First Transit (it also pays its drivers way less, has no union that I know of, and only hires students)

yeah it's like that at a lot of schools, i meant that they guarantee both a middle class ridership and political attention that allows pvta to hold onto the power it has instead of being entirely privatized

Lol their riders pay no fare and are effectively subsidised by working class riders who ride buses from the other garages; their political influence is restricted solely to their own routes and tends to be "keep service at present levels and don't ask us to pay more"

they pay the fare in their tuition whether they ride or not as we all should in our taxes
