A frequent suggestion for cutting transit costs is to use smaller buses--usually a misguided suggestion, as most of the expense comes from paying the driver rather than fueling and maintaining the bus. But there is one very good reason that we should use smaller buses in USA...
we usually have larger corner radii here too, but all it takes is one exception (and as it happens, we have plenty...and that's just on the street network, let alone in parking lots etc)

But I think that it can be easily fixed with just paint. Remove a couple of parking places, move the oncoming lane to the curb and move the stop line further back. Easy. Why would buses end up in parking lots though?
