Even so, these are incredibly low frequencies. A Kodama station (ie, one which most trains skip) on the Sanyo Shinkansen still gets more than 20 trips per day per direction...Shin-Osaka gets 128 per day towards Hakata and even more towards Tokyo

Not that the TGV is hurting for riders! It's still a very popular service--but I can't help wondering how much more useful it would be if the frequency were greatly increased
