"Everyone should own property" is still a bit utopian but more plausible than "Everyone should own a 2000sf house on a quarter acre in the woods"

You do need land imo but that can be a slice of a neighborhood, rather than a chunk of wilderness

Not sure. Agree you need connection and responsibility for geographic space. But, a 99-year lease to live on a piece of property explicitly to develop it for the public good seems just as right as actually having 'ownership'. If so could imagine that down to the smallest level.
