I wasn't thinking of freeways or interchanges, but ordinary residential streets etc--the stuff that makes up like 90% of a road network in terms of centerline mileage. Also, I didn't mean to single out LA specifically here, bc the wide street problem is all over the USA
This is true. Neighborhood streets in my hood are 5 lanes: parking on each side, lanes of travel and enough space to fit a center lane if they wanted
