This takes for granted that there's nothing deficient about the current system--notice a solid third of the trip time is waiting because frequencies don't exceed 4/hr. Toronto is lower density but has better transit and transit use, "spread out" not rly the issue

Route and stop locations could probably use a tweak too but I would need to know more about the city to judge that...in any case, my point is that the layout of LA isn't an insurmountable barrier to good transit there, and that what exists isn't good enough

Again, cities like Toronto can say the same re:grocery store access, but still manage much better than LA, despite much worse weather for walking in. I'm not here to say LA transit is good *now,* after all
