A bedroom for each inhabitant over the age of 3 or so. Perhaps some sharing for similarly aged children. It doesn't even have to be large or particularly private

"A bedroom for each inhabitant over 3" is insanely wasteful of space, sharing rooms is perfectly respectable--I grew up with three younger siblings in a 3 bedroom house: parents in one, girls in another, and boys in the other
