Really fed up with these pieces fretting about how *minimum* wage isn't sufficient for *average* rental prices--by definition, there are lots of rentals for less than the average price!https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/how-much-you-need-for-rent_us_5942cc92e4b0f15cd5b9e2ee …

A bedroom for each inhabitant over the age of 3 or so. Perhaps some sharing for similarly aged children. It doesn't even have to be large or particularly private
-
"A bedroom for each inhabitant over 3" is insanely wasteful of space, sharing rooms is perfectly respectable--I grew up with three younger siblings in a 3 bedroom house: parents in one, girls in another, and boys in the other
-
Sure. 3 bedrooms and how many income earners?
-
2 earners, my whole point is that we were decently middle class but weren't demanding 5 bedrooms for 6 people
-
No. But my family did that on one income
-
Nice! Shared bedrooms are fine, don't let snobs cast doubt
-
...lol. no. but still grand-parents parents and kids slept separate
-
dude...if you won't eat rice because you're demanding steak, you're just gonna go hungry
