From 2010-16, citywide population density increased by 1300 people/sq. mile, from 16.8k to 18.1k. That helps.
From 2010-16, the number of workers living in SF increased by 46k, number of transit commuters increased by 22k, and the percent of resident/transit commuters increased from 32.8% to 34.1%.
22,000 new transit commuters would mean about 880,000 new transit commutes/month. But buses account for 1/3rd of transit trips when BART is included. However, the bus system is showing monthly gains of over 2 million rides/month.
