That said, neither NYCT nor BART has had any off-peak service cuts recently. New York's big cuts were in 2010, and BART still runs 2*3 tph.
also R10 huh...you have my condolences; I think it's our busiest 1-per-hour route, lot more demand there than is being met by supply
-
-
Then why is it not going up to 2 per hour?
-
(Speaking of: do you do timed transfers at all?)
-
yes but poorly to say the least (I rely on a timed transfer for my commute, but God help me if one bus is running late, because the two routes operate from different garages and refuse to communicate to each other)
-
...And getting the dispatches to communicate is out of the question?
-
Apparently! I've never heard of a technical obstacle to this, just inertia and bloody-mindedness
-
Driver always tells me he won't call dispatch--if they were in the same garage, driver would be happy to use bus-to-bus communication, but won't do anything beyond this if circumstances need it
-
How much do the drivers get paid, and are there problems with recruitment and retention?
-
Driver salaries are very good, I've never heard of any issues with recruitment or retention

Gf went to Westfield State for a year, doing that trip from the NJ burbs to Westfield on transit was brutal to say the least. I’d like to see the local officials have to rely on that service even for a week (do any PVTA higher ups rely on it?
) -
None rely on it that I'm aware of, although they do use it (I do, however, rely on PVTA bc I don't have a car)
