Nothing put me off catholicism, which I flirted with a few yrs ago in the midst of my dante obsession, like twitter catholics. I will die a protestant at heart.

if you were gonna convert, twitter caths wouldn't stop you; if you weren't, they make for a convenient justification
-
I'm also opposed to the institution itself. I don't trust priests of any frock.
-
I know, which is part of why even at your closest you were never gonna convert
-
But the institution is really us. I am the Church, so is Alex. You would be, too.
-
Don't be so naive. You aren't in charge of who you have as a priest, nevermind what the vatican's coffers are used for.
-
But none of those things are the faith. I've know untrustworthy priests and one who are probably living saints. The Church is still us.
-
You're talking about Christ & not the Church now, & if you can have one without the other... Well, let's not start thinking dangerously here.
-
No, I am saying that you are conflating Christ and His Church with priests and annoying twitter catholics. One shouldn't have a bearing on the other.
