Hoping to make stops this time in (partial listing) Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta
unfortunately the NOLA to LA route only operates 3 trips a *week* in either direction so this will call for some creative scheduling on my part
This trip is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2019, earliest it could happen would be May/June of this year

I own that book! Was a Christmas or birthday present several years ago...this is not the first time I'll have taken a 2-week Amtrak trip, either
it's a very good, if depressing book. I wish I could reliably plan a cross country trip via train. but it's impossible, given a. no rail connection to AK, and b. unreliable nature of probable routes, expense if things go sideways.
not sure if comfy is the word I'd use for Amtrak but it is certainly an experience
many stops!
not much amtrak service there man...which is easier to get to, memphis or cincinnati?
I think it takes about 2-weeks just to cross the South by Amtrak.
Doesn't help that there's no train, or even substitute bus, between New Orleans and Jacksonville. And the regulator doesn't seem to care.
