I spent the night at a hostel staffed by Lithuanian girls, then the next morning set out walking for Glacier NP. I didn't have a map & the park was rly driving distance away, but I managed to climb halfway up Mount Henry, turn around, and get back for the next train that eveningpic.twitter.com/qP4exJn9WG
The train passed through the Rockies overnight and I woke up near Wenatchee, then passed a tunnel to the damper side of the Cascades before arriving in Seattle. Lovely gardens there, and I got to see the Blue Angelspic.twitter.com/WFcjGp7fBz
Took the Coast Starlight the next day heading to Los Angeles--a Talgo at Portland, lots of lovely scenery, and sunny weather while we paused in San Diegopic.twitter.com/JQzUy49p4g
Through Salinas, through the golden hills, around curves so tight you could see the other end of the train in the distance, then another break at San Luis Obispopic.twitter.com/OkzFnoJFOv
When we finally reached the Pacific Coast in southern Cali, I was a underwhelmed at first...but then the clouds cleared....
...last pic is in Santa Barbara. Alas, the rest of the photos never made it to FB, but after LA I hit up SF, Denver, and Chicago, then home.

Is this grand junction? If so, the mom and pop shop there is great.
no, it's East Glacier
Whoops. Either way the route the zephyr takes through Colorado is amazing
