why do you go to work in the morning? why do you do your job? why do you keep good manners in public? why do you maintain social niceties? all so that the kids are happy, so they can grow up grateful and pass the favor along one more generation

This thread is cute but... methinks ahistorical. Particularly in western civilization. like maybe there was some thought for "future generations" but there was very little care about early years until REALLY recently. This isn't just like underclass kids either

The richest families in England sent their kids to what amounted to torture prisons like Eton, alumni still write letters to ed apparently talking about how the abuse was good for them & is why kids today blah blah there was a super good thread the other day on it

And that's just an example of even the richest fams not actually caring about the exp of their children, the world's next gen of leaders. And this world is still horrible to children. Schools aren't really designed for THEM. I work w/kids outside of that system for a reason.
