yeah i was gonna whine that london has a large suburban rail network lol
Yeah that doesn't have eg the line I will take to work tomorrow as I've stayed at my parents house. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinchley_Wood_railway_station …
Line electrified 1916-25, station opened 1930, barely improved since then
Highkey think that a big obstacle to making improvements in cities like London is that not many people have a very clear idea of what "better" would look like I am even more convinced this is the case in the USA, where they usually don't even think "better" is possible
For me it's densifying suburban areas in order to fund and justify transit improvements. Without moving together likely to be major opposition because of road congestion. School, hospital issues too. But surprise surprise no issues with lawyer, cafe, shop, bar "congestion"
love congested bars, not so big on congested cafes love congestion OF bars AND cafes
when I went to Sao Paulo it frequently recommended to take the bus to some areas when it was much more convenient and faster to take the subway. Moovit was more accurate in that aspect
