I can kind of understand the shelter part (though not optimal) but it shouldn't be that hard to make a level boarding platform. Especially if they had the money to build the curb
it gets pretty bad when the shelter walls are made of perforated metal so they don't even stop the slightest breeze
not sure that's the case in pic, but it was the case when I was at the Middleboro/Lakeville stop in the dead of winter
Train station in my town used to be this nice big late 19th/early 20th century building but they boarded it up because of high upkeep, now we just get the platforms with corrugated iron roofs
I love how they went out of their way to make the shelter as non-sheltering as possible.
