total number of colonizable territories in the Pacific Rim at the start of EU4: 169
with three colonists that's over 56 rounds of colonizing
at peak colonial fervor I've found about 110 ppl moving in per year = 9 years to colonize
getting them all would take 507 years

colonial nations can speed up the process, so can bankrupting myself by propping up more than 3 at a time...but that 507 year estimate doesn't account for the slow start, where I only have 1 or 2 colonists and colonies only pull 20~30 ppl per year

The other thing that speeds it up is if other countries colonize or expand into those territories, so I can get them thru war instead of settlement--but chancy & usually involves trying to fight countries stronger than me....

to be clear: by "pacific rim" I mean everything between the Cocos Islands and South Georgia Island

Replying to @380kmh
you need trade way earlier if you want to spawn Global Trade in the East Indies
