We care about nothing anymore because we are forced to live as though we don't. To truly care about our privacy, or the environment, or the future of anything we ought to hold dear would terrify and alienate us, because we are compelled to be implicated in its destruction.

The Internet is a weird case though. It has all the problems of distributed agency in terms of social interaction but at the same time being EXTREMELY centralized underneath
