I think there's a place for urban-lite; many like having small gardens and trees mixed in.
-
yes, this is pretty common in Japan
-
there's nothing "lite" about it tho, it's high urbanism

I was surprised by how quiet Rotterdam is. So damn tranquil!

Haha, you hate Rotterdam? Well, tranquil compared to most cities.
-
Most Dutch people I know like Rotterdam and would be happy to see Amsterdam sink into the sea
-
Yes, because most Dutch people are idiots and think that hating Amsterdam will give them goodie points. I'm Dutch, was born in Rotterdam and visit there (almost) weekly. It's an uninteresting city with a fake "proletariat" attitude, filled up mostly with immigrants.
-
I'm sad you dislike the city, but fair points. My next favourite city is Utrecht, but that seemed louder
-
Ooh, or Maastricht! Maastricht is nice
-
Maastricht is nice indeed. Utrecht is terrible (went to school there for 5 years). Nice "cities" in the Netherlands are Leiden, Delft, Groningen, Maastricht, The Hague and Amsterdam imo.
