what is the difference between rapid and express in Japan?
they just refer to different degrees of stop frequency--adding to the confusion, there is no consistency between companies
Odakyu trains are ranked like this: - Local - Semi-Express - Express - Rapid Express - Limited Express
JR trains tend to use something like this: - Local - Rapid - Express - Limited Express - Superexpress (Shinkansen)
maybe they use rapid for commuter trains within a city?
Sometimes, but it's also used for limited-stop services in rural areas
oh I don't know yet Maybe in 2 or 3 years I can manage to go there For now I can just dream :)
