I would love to compare specs with current EMUs on, say, the Red Line, but am having trouble finding that information...

Overall, an average speed target of 60mph is about right. That translates to a 1h 40m trip between Boston and Springfield.

how many stops should it have? Springfield isn't that huge so it ought to have some intermediate stops

but between Springfield and Worcester is very lightly populated. Palmer and maybe a Brookfield stop; existing route is very curvy

I would say frequent stops between Boston and Framingham, fairly frequent as far as Worcester (maybe a little further)...

hmm. I was thinking just Framingham & Worcester as MBTA rail already covers that, maybe a Newton stop?

Ohh I'm talking about stops on the corridor--not which of those stops would be served by the fastest train to run it

The fastest train should just run Springfield -> Worcester -> Framingham -> Boston

yes, not really much to trim from there in terms of stops
