What would modern rail service look like between Boston and Springfield? What kind of trains would run on such a route?

I would love to compare specs with current EMUs on, say, the Red Line, but am having trouble finding that information...

Overall, an average speed target of 60mph is about right. That translates to a 1h 40m trip between Boston and Springfield.

I'd be looking at something like Great Northern line out of London for the rapid services - they've been running at up to 100mph for years
-
What sort of acceleration?
-
Varies, there's been 5 different types of unit used on it since electrification in the late 70s. will look it up
-
It looks like the fastest are the Electrostars (110mph), but no info yet on acceleration--the forthcoming Aventras will do 2.2mph/s
-
OK here's the stats for the class 365. Not as good as I thought, but then they don't have IGBT variable-speed drives like later buildspic.twitter.com/YIThWIJp08
-
great find, though--is there a database online where I could look up more like this?
-
also they have the best acceleration sound of any electric trainhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6Ta4seRYu8 …
