Most subway lines don't just have hypothetically interchangeable stock, they literally run through service onto commuter lines

...the one in the picture, the red Marunouchi Line, is one of those which doesn't interoperate w commuter lines, none of which use 3rd rail
The Ginza and Oedo Lines also don't have any commuter interoperation. Ginza is 3rd rail, Oedo uses a linear induction motor.
