Raising or swiveling bridges for trains are only acceptable when you're assuming very low rail traffic...rebuilding MA railways must address

Cape Cod is an easy case for a tunnel, in other areas maybe a higher bridge would work--but no more of this sometimes-open nonsense

The bridge is decades old, the rail line itself not prepped for high freq service--replacing w tunnel would be part of bigger project

right now they're not considering doing anything here--they're not champing at the bit to replace this w a new bridge either
