I've ridden in trains from Singapore to Tokyo to NYC to Rome. Nothing so far as bad as the Bay Area "rapid" transit.

HK, Sing & Tokyo are world class. I'd argue that BART > MTA and London Tube, though.

MTA always runs, has express lines, has great coverage, and is cheap compared to BART. It's not great, but no way bart is better.

Between 12-6am sure, albeit limited. BART shuts down during that time. Before ridesharing, one could get stuck on one side of the bay.

BART trains don't even have trainline battery power. If one car's voltage converter dies it stops being able to release the brakes.
