Hot spring and anime tours are probably out of the question but the rest are reasonable goals for promoting tourism in New Englandpic.twitter.com/gbnbCt5Kqo

do you think this applies to the Cape area/South Shore? Saw a lot of pushback on the Greenbush line a few yrs ago from Hingham, Scituate etc
Definitely applies there--but bear in mind Greenbush and other Old Colony lines weren't really built with tourism in mind
Massachusetts should promote tourism on those lines as part of a larger process of upgrading them--would probably still be unpopular tho...
...because people don't like their towns being flooded with visitors. To be fair, part of this is b/c it normally means way more car traffic
i think theyd be better off marketing it as a way to ease congestion, maybe a dedicated line to braintree with added capacity at peak hrs
lot of town permit parking down the cape, so i think theres definitely a need for transit but im not sure the locals would support it
I'm not sure they would either, but at least it would let them make money from their beaches w/o getting flooded by tourist traffic on roads
