Considering the murder rate and their general disfunction, If Rahm hasn't messed up the trains too I don't think he has much control over it
Haven't used it since 2010 but my understanding is they spent a lot on repairs and renovations and have great on-time performance these days

Other than that his only point is to focus on existing rather than new lines,which is easy for me to accede to but maybe not the underserved

I have to agree with him on that point; the underserved would be stuck with feeble new service unless existing is shored up first

I probably agree, though I wonder to what extent the reduced station congestion resulting from new lines helps existing line service.
