I'm delighted that they're adding service but lmfao @ talking about how 25 people is "crowded," "a big crowd," "one of the biggest hubs"

Let's make it one of the biggest hubs tho--this is a step in the right direction: http://www.gazettenet.com/Northampton-Amtrak-ridership-10945621 …

it's crowded because the platform isn't long enough to board the entire train (only connects to 1 car length if I remember right)

The Springfield to Holyoke segment is still painfully slow

Agreed, and it's absurd that they back out of Springfield then reverse direction before going north

are they stuck from the track setup? Could it be fixed? Seems absurd they spent all that $ and are stuck w/ the inefficiency

The track setup needn't be an obstacle if they could just settle for letting the train reverse direction at Springfield

That is, instead of reversing to back out of Springfield then resuming the initial direction once they've backed all the way up
