The idea is to build railways and train stations in places where--by Denver standards, ofc--more people are *already* walking than usual

You want to reward and reinforce walking in the parts of the city where people are already doing it. Parts of this line seem to fit the bill

Old Town Arvada and Golden both look promising, at least from satellite view. Adding more parking to them, right next to the new stations...

...constrains their ability to develop more intensely in the future, and ensures that driving will remain the most practical way to go there

Basically, it turns the train into a sort of novelty decoration--it's an awfully expensive bit of infrastructure to build for novelty's sake

Man, another look at Olde Town Arvada really puts this into perspective: building a park and ride next to several huge existing parking lots
