American transit operators just go wild for silver trains which only use color on the face, I guess. These are from DC.pic.twitter.com/OOjIb6BRMC
#TrainTwitter - trains & train stations - passionate opinions on public transit & civic design - transit bureacrat, but all views here are my own

Or, when employing color, shy away from solid color-coding and instead go for rainbows (as seen here in Atlanta)...pic.twitter.com/Gi0v0AoaEg
...or the ol' red-white-and-blue, as seen on older (iirc) Chicago L trains. The newer ones stick with all-silver.pic.twitter.com/Fd3Bme9jtl
As an aside--whatever the failings of the Chicago L, it does make for some nice iconic photospic.twitter.com/yfFtJJHbL8
Can't talk about all-silver trains without bringing these NYC rat-cages up, can Ipic.twitter.com/Aoc6AceEgc
Cleveland's subway doesn't get much publicity, but it has one. Silver, of course, despite being the "Red Line."pic.twitter.com/DrV9K1WwRI
Miami's metro is entirely elevated iircpic.twitter.com/eR9h0EOU1U
The oldest BART trains have a novel design which caused some operational headaches (can't couple!) but which I'm very fond of regardlesspic.twitter.com/SFIExMnc9O
Subsequent BART trains have stuck with a flat front. White w thin blue stripes is a good profile aesthetic, my fave in US outside of Boston.pic.twitter.com/BORq4Kyy9L
is this real? I've never seen a bart train that looks like this
Two of those are pics of new BART trains, look for more and more of them entering service
http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/BART-janitor-pay-270000-Powell-St-questions-10911932.php … u seen this? or how they staffed warm springs for a year before it opened lmbo. I doubt we'll see many new trains :(
I saw about the janitor, ya...but those new trains (from Bombardier) should be in service (a few of them, at least) since last December
