I'm pretty sure you understand the other part, even if the parts could be built by American companies they'll outsource to save money.

Hopefully that will change on a federal level with Trump but I doubt it on a municipal level since the mayors have contempt for America

Clearly the US still has access to good engineers, our engineering blows everyone else out of the water in the militarily sector.
