I am reasonably certain that basic income won't pan out, regardless of where it's attempted, but it'll be interesting to see how it happens

That's sort of the way I see it. It's about the mental aspect of the problem, not the material aspect.

Good point. Of course in current conditions city growth is massively hampered by massive welfare spending. Back to the beginning.
