I dunno man, Tokyo seems like it solves most city problems here: houses instead of towers, cheap rents, great transit

and it's the time most people are required to be there! It's not like they have a choice. That's why downtown density is good.

sure, don't disagree, but having dense apartment towers close to downtown is better for commutes than lots of SFD

theoretically yeah I just never see any examples of this IRL, despite plenty of cities w dense towers downtown
