not sure...the longest passenger trains I've actually seen are the 16 coach trains on the Tokaido Shinkansen though
These trains seem to have a lot of power. Over 10000HP. That may be how they run decently or blazingly fast despite long length.
West Japan Shinkansen, some Chinese CRH sets, Kazakhstan's Talgo, one Talgo Trenhotel in Spain- long, decently fast.
