maybe it will, maybe it won't, but it doesn't exactly solve any practical problems with transportation (see: Concorde)

more speed => more capacity, all other things equal, problem with Concorde is that they weren't

airplanes are much faster than conventional HSR, but constant Tokyo-Nagoya flights still don't beat capacity of maglev
