oh...dude, there's no country or city in the world where rail is used exclusively, w/ no cars...
eg, much more travel between Framingham and Boston than between Albany and Boston
-
-
most won't forego their car when they have the option (and pay for ownership) - this makes intercity highest value
-
most won't forgo their cars for intercity (less traffic!) but will take commuter rail where it exists, even now
-
the aim is to dramatically improve their experience
-
main issue is the experience mostly revolves around riding with other passengers of same income bracket/haplogroup
-
I have no intent to become
#Traintwitter 's harbinger of hatefacts but this cannot be completely ignored -
I won't ignore facts that are true, fam...and the truth is WAY more ppl on commuter rail than intercity, TODAY
-
very true but this is mostly because in drastic difference in availability of routes, not rider preference
-
cause notwithstanding, you can see why it's my first target if I'm trying to improve ppl's train experience, yeah?
