Lads I think I have hyperacusis :( :( :(
-
-
Really hope it's just an ear infection or something but that's for the doctor to judge
-
In the meantime I can't listen to music anymore and the office is a horrible din
-
Since it's only in one ear it may be a tumor--which would be great, because unlike hyperacusis, that could be cured
-
your symptoms being?
-
ordinary sounds are much louder and distorted in my left ear; I can hear bits of conversations on the other side of the office
-
background noise like computer and central air are louder and irritating
-
when I listen to music it sounds flat, tinny, echoing in left ear
-
my own voice sounds way too loud no matter how softly I talk, it feels like there's water in my left ear

But do see a doctor!
-
soon as I can, yeah...I still have to go to my PCP, right? Or do you think I'd be able to go to a closer doctor in Noho?
-
What is your current health insurance?
-
Health New England--I will check
-
OK, in that case, what you can do is go to a doc in Noho and change them to be your PCP by phoning HNE. Do you need their #?
-
No, I have the card with me
