This used to be the train station here in Northampton--it's now several bars/restaurants and an event hallpic.twitter.com/qWtZxy3OQX

All those railways I "proposed" used to exist; it's how New England was built. I want them rebuilt w modern rail tech (ie, NOT AMTRAK).
Some are still in use today, some are bike paths, some are overgrown, some are gone w/o a trace. Varying degrees of difficulty to rebuild.
But there's no need to get them all up and running immediately--start by modernizing what's currently in use & expand from there as needed.
Some of the lines might make no sense to rebuild today--so don't! But I maintain that it's important to know what's available & possible.
So my "proposal" is, to some extent, more of a catalogue or inventory--with a vision of how it might look if still in use today.
