that's my whole thing Trains are great because they extend my walking range, but a place doesn't need them to be walkable

Yes. It all seems a bit crowded to me. The trains are neat, but most of the rest doesn't please aesthetically.

even in the US, I prefer living in urban places. Crowded isn't a turn-off for me.

I'm an excellent planner. I think cities should be ultimately reformed into or replaced by well-linked, mostly sufficient villages.
