You just need to put together two multiple-unit trains, no? Like in the pic. In Europe, and China too from what I saw, platforms are usually much longer than trainspic.twitter.com/SMuOikH9vG

adding a single carriage for capacity isn't a great idea, no--better to add more trains per hour than more capacity per train, if possible
