#wmata Board--and region's riders & taxpayers--need to see alternatives & costs:
1) Status quo: 8 minute peak and 20-40 minute off-peak headways
2) Improve off-peak headways to i) 20 minute clockface, 15 minute clockface
3) Improve peak headways to 12 / 15 / 20 tphhttps://twitter.com/HeadwaysMatter/status/1047130848020090880 …

My understanding is the money still could have been better spent on improving already existing Maryland segments of the Metro system. I think what you're saying is "MD politics, not WMATA, is to blame here" but it's still a suboptimal use of money. Quality before size.

Yes, the money could probably be better spent as you describe--my point was more that WMATA couldn't spend that money elsewhere even if they wanted to, since they're not the ones spending it now

We all agree: -
#wmata needs to be responsible steward of taxpayer $$$ it spends. That means back-to-basics grunt work of maintaining & running trains on time. -Region (MTA, MWAA) spent $$$ on new transit projects/expansions of questionable value (@purplelinenow Silver Line)
