More to the point--there are already plenty of people who have no interest in turning WMATA around, and don't believe any such thing is possible. Not good to give them talking points, unless you're in this category yourself.

It's tongue in cheek, of course. But larger conversation about opportunity cost is worthwhile. Region spends $2.1 billion/year on
#wmata. What else could that $$$ be doing? If bondable, would support $60-70 billion in borrowing -> jump-start BRT network! -
And what's gonna happen to all those people making trips in the interim, exactly?

#wmata isn't giving any more consideration to YL/BL riders affected by next summer's total shutdown. It will be tough going in the interim. -
